Four Paws Animal Rescue

Four Paws Animal Rescue (South Wales) is a small independent registered charity who tries to help any animal in need - those that are unwanted or in danger. Primarily, however, we tend to take in and rehome dogs, which is where our expertise lies. However, when we do receive cats and other small animals we may enlist the help of other more specialist rescue organisations if we can't rehome them ourselves.

We pride ourselves in a non-destruction policy. As far as possible we try to foster dogs in a home environment where they can be assessed and cared for without the stresses of kennels. All our animals receive veterinary care if needed, are vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, and if old enough they are neutered. All prospective new owners are homechecked and receive a follow-up homecheck.

Some of the dogs that we rehome come to us from the local pound. The pounds that we work with operate a Put-To-Sleep policy if we are unable to help them. This makes the task even harder, if we do not have spaces ourselves we will work with other rescues to give this poor dogs a chance of a happy life. We also rehome a number of dogs and cats that have been handed in privately to us.

We rehome dogs across the UK and last year rehomed over 400 dogs as well as finding rescue places for many others who would sadly not be here otherwise. We are a volunteer based rescue who rely solely on public support, donations and fundraising activities such as online photo competitions and auctions.
